What happens when Travel meets Horror……..Bhangarh
One weekend, we a gang of notorious travel freaks planned to confront the Ghosts. So we decided to visit one of the haunted places near Delhi. None other than Bhangarh was on the chart. On Saturday morning we all geared up and met at 32nd milestone a bit ahead from Gurgaon early morning, with 2 cars we started our encounter. One is my love FIGO and other being the luxury BMW SUV.
Within a few minutes, we reached Gurgaon Jaipur Highways and collected our fuel for the next 2 days to keep us charged and energetic (keep thinking). With a mixed feeling we were going to visit this haunted place and now there is no U-turn. I remember one incidence where the co-passenger of BMW, mistook the vehicle as Renault Duster for nearly 3 hours.
After driving for almost 4 hrs and taking a few small food breakers, we finally stopped for a big one…early lunch where we stretched our legs for an hour. Few of us remembered the childhood days, enjoyed the swings and others the clear air. We restarted our trip and after an hour noticed even our google map went haunted and took us to unknowing narrow long route and there was no turning back. “ewwwwwwww” Scary!!!
We somehow after a 7 hours drive reached our hotel totally exhausted but still in a mood to have fun. Moksh Sariska a brilliant place right in nature, mountains on one side, with basic but clean tents and apt facilities was the place.
What a place far from the traffic…….
We ordered the famous Indian drug…the Masala chai accompanied with some vegetable pakoras on arrival and relaxed in the farmland. Later played badminton, football and yess most importantly we clicked some funny selfies.
The evening was much fun under the stars and dim lights along with energy boosters, some reinvented music, crazy songs, and mouth-watering awesome food. The best part was the camaraderie and the feeling of being with friends and away from work. Nothing can beat that. If you have the right people all things fall in place.
After some awesome hilarious acts, dance and ……. we went to sleep.
Few of our knight riders knocked the wrong tents at 2 am and scared the hell out of the other innocent people. But finally, we all crashed into our beds.
Here I was on a bright sunny morning, waiting for my gang to wake up and sitting on my rocking chair outside my tent. Ordered for a masala tea and enjoyed the sun rays falling all over. Also heard the innocent people scolding the knockers from the previous night and starring me.
In case you are still wondering where we stayed here is the website link – http://mokshresorts.com/moksh-sariska.html.
Breakfast was ready and so was the PACK. Ready to unveil the reason for this trip. So what was next?
BHANGARH FORT
Less than an hour from our camp, crossing via Sariska national park and encountering the wild, you reach this famous fort well-renowned for its ghost stories. But we were surprised to see that it was a beautiful place with some amazing scenery.
The moment you enter the gate you are greeted by some great characters who claim themselves as the approved guide and boost to share the knowledge and stories.
We finally agreed to have one to hear the intriguing stories. Please do not have very high expectations from them. This young chap started his stories showing us the famous sight and temple featured in the blockbuster Bollywood movie Karan Arjun, but we all looking for some ghost stories. So the first line which came out was there are no ghosts and as per his version all was created to sell this place to the crowd. But all said and done there are things you feel, the darkness which haunts, the silence which speaks and the symmetrically broken walls awaiting to tell their stories.
I loved the landscape, some amazing mysterious staircases, huge banyan trees…. obviously how you can miss the essence of being in a village. It’s amazing and bit kiddish and stupid to see people depicting their bravery and trying to get into the darkest place to catch the bats, climbing stairs which has a huge pothole in the end. We ourselves climbed one of the main structures but please be careful here. You might create one of the ghost stories unknowingly.
After around 2 hours, we were ready to drive back to Delhi. Just when we exited there was the summer mocktail… famous lemon soda made in traditional style with some ice. One by one all of us had a couple of glasses under that scorching sun.

We got into our cars and were ready for our crazy ride back home. While we are crossing one of the villages and thinking what else crazy we can be done. Someone whispered lets dance again. So we parked our vehicles at one of the farmlands, few farmers at work….We decided to dance, so a couple of us became bouncers and all our Shakira’s started to make some noise and show their moves. Soon we had some audience and villagers starting starring us thinking we were crazy or who knows. But we continued to dance for couple of songs, we had a sense of achievement by now, without being in any competition. The feeling of doing something crazy, dancing on the roadside and no fear of someone judging us.
The journey continued and you cross some of the beautiful village houses and breezy farmlands.
After a while, we met one the biker gangs which consist of Harley’s, Indians, and some Hayabusas. Some had a pre-installed music system. HOW COOL!!!
After following them for a while, we stopped for a lunch at one of the midway restaurants after few misses. The place was great and a couple of us ended with a sweet Lassi and others with a masala chai.
It was dark by the time we reached Delhi but that was an awesome trip with some great memories.
Really waiting for the next one very soon with the lovely PACK.
